🌲 New Opportunity for Year 10 & 11 Students in Moreton Bay 🌲
We’re excited to share a new training opportunity starting in Semester 2 this year for students interested in hands-on learning and future career pathways.
After 18 months of collaboration between Metro North Region and Timber Queensland, a new school-to-work pathway in Forestry and Timber Processing Operations is now available for students across the Moreton Bay region.
With strong growth in construction, timber production and infrastructure projects leading into the Olympics, there is increasing demand for skilled workers in these industries — creating real opportunities for our young people.
The program includes:
✔ Certificate II in Forest Operations
✔ 4 QCE credits
✔ Fully funded training (non-VETiS)
✔ 12-month course commencing 16 July 2026
✔ A mix of school-based theory and practical industry immersion days
✔ Opportunities for additional work experience with industry partners
Students will participate in 11 industry immersion days across the course, visiting a range of workplaces and gaining practical experience in different areas of the forestry and timber industries.
The program is coordinated by the Moreton Bay North Training Alliance and delivered in partnership with Timber Queensland, ForestWorks and Timber Training Creswick through Australian Government funding.
